Where did those 3 months go?

I really can't believe that 3 whole months have passed since my last post - I must try harder to keep my blog up to date.  I have been crafting - when time allowed - but have also been making the most of the British sunshine which seems to have disappeared now.  The first card that I have got to show you is one that someone asked me to make.  I was asked to make a fishing card for a young man and was given a photo to use - I've obscured his face for privacy.

The base paper was some old DCVW paper that I found.  I over stamped the harlequin design with some Tim Holtz stamps, using distress ink.  The other paper was from a small Sizzix paper pad that I have had for ever.  I found some arrow stamps that I had never used before and some chip board letters from a Brenda Walton kit that I bought from QVC years ago.

I'm keeping it short and sweet today - I'm off to have a look round Blogger at some of your craft blogs.  I'll be back soon.

Fizzy Moon Thanks A Bunch

I bought some new paper pads at the weekend, which has given me a bit of inspiration to make a few new cards.  I always love the pink/orange colour combo so that's the best page to start for me!

For my layout, I used the current sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday - always a great place to start when making a card!

I've used a Fizzy Moon stamp called "Thanks a Bunch" and the image is coloured with pro markers and colouring pencils.  The paper is from a pad called Pressed Petals.  The wooden flower has been in my stash for years and the ribbon is some I've recycled.

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch 206
As You Like it - Favourite colour combo (Pink & Orange)
Charisma Cardz - No digis allowed

Princess decoupge card

I've had a little play with some papers that I bought at the NEC show last month.  I managed to elbow my way around the very packed Craft Pound Stall - they were selling everything for £1 or 12 items for £10 - so I had to fill my basket!

Anyway, the papers are from a Dovecraft 8x8 pack that were a £1 bargain but I wasn't really sure what to do with the little decoupage images.  I did a bit of cutting and sticking and I hope you like the simple little card that I've made.   The border punch is one by Martha Stewart.

I'm off to enjoy the last hour or so of sunshine in my garden, on this glorious St George's Day.

Fed up with colouring

My crafting mojo has certainly been AWOL these past few weeks - hence the lack of posts on my blog.  I've made a couple of quick and easy cards today to get me back in the swing of things.  My problem, I think, is that I like to try lots of different types of craft and I get bored really easily.  I love my pro markers but I am really bored with colouring at the moment so I am trying out a few different things for me.  I spent plenty of pennies at the NEC craft show last month so I'm just playing with a few bits 'n' bobs this week.

This is a 5x5 scallop card and I've used Papermania paper and paper flowers, together with some Spellbinders leaf dies.  Plain and simple.  This will be ideal for when a not-so-special card is required ..... us crafters all do it!  Recipients can tell their importance by how much the card is embellished!!

Something different

This card's a bit different for me - as I said in my last post, I'm sorting through and using up my old stash. These dufex decoupage images have been lying around for a couple of years - from an NEC Hobbycrafts spending spree.

The colours a bit wrong - that's because of the rubbish weather and lack of natural light that we have at the moment because of our winter. In "real life" the medallion is a lovely shade of lilac and silver (but you get the gyst of it don't you?). I matted the decoupage medallion onto a Nellie Snellen die - the die is square so I cut 2 and off set one. I must try and think "outside the box" more in order to maximise the use of my dies.  The medallion reminds me a bit of a snowflake - very apt for recent weather.

I've added a bit of faux stitching with a fine purple liner and stamped the greeting in Soft Plum ink by Memento.  The AB jewels are from Papermania.

Using up the old stash

I said at the beginning of January that I wanted to use up some of the huge stock pile of crafting stash that I already had, before buying new stuff.  Its amazing what we squirrel away - my craft cupboard was like a treasure trove when I started looking!

With all of the cold weather and snow that we are experiencing in the UK, I had to turn my mind to Spring and make a card with flowers and pretty colours.

The stamp is from LOTV, stamped in Memento London Fog and coloured with pro markers.  The paper is Tea Party by Dovecraft and I found a leaf die by Marianne's which I bought about a year ago and forgot all about!  I have had the wooden flowers for absolutely years - I think they were part of a kit from QVC - one of the first purchases I made from them about 10 years ago.  I bet there's lots of you who have similar forgotten crafting treasures in the back of a cupboard - go look!!!

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:

ABC Challenges - Birthday Cards
The Paper Girls Challenge - Wooden elements
Sunday Sketch and Stamp - I used their sketch

Quick and easy trio of cards

Grrrrr! Is it just me or is anyone else having problems uploading photos to Blogger?  Its taken me a whole day to get round the problem and work out how I could upload my pictures.  Normally I just upload them from My Pictures on my PC but Blogger wouldn't let me do that so I have had to upload them to a Picasa web album to put them onto Blogger.  Simple when you know how but soooo frustrating when Blogger doesn't work as you expect!

Anyway, rant over - here's a few cards that I've made.  They are quick and easy ones all based on the same design.  I needed a few cards to keep in my desk for work - ready for colleagues birthdays at short notice!   I tend to save my coloured "special" cards for friends and family who appreciate the work that goes into making it (or I sell them for charity).

All of the supplies are from a Papermania Goody bag that I bought just before Christmas, except for the button and a bit of card candi from Craftwork Cards.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:

ABC Challenges - Clean and Simple
Pretty little ribbon shop - Flowers and ribbon

Wryn - Tiddlyinks digi card

I was doing a bit of blog hopping the other day and found Tiddly Inks digis which I thought were just lovely - then I realised that I'd actually bought this Wryn digi about 6 months ago but never printed it off at all.  So now, I've dusted off my box of pro markers and done a bit of colouring - its so great to have the spare time again to sit down, chill out and colour a few images.

Here's what I used:

Digi (Wryn Grow a little love) by Tiddly Inks - coloured with pro markers
Papers - My Mind's Eye
Martha Stewart border punch
Paper flowers by Papermania and card candy for the flower centres

I used the sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday for my design and I'm entering this card into this week's challenge.

Craft Your Days Away DT card - For children

Can't believe that I've left it a fortnight between post - Bad Blogger!  Anyway, I'm back today with my DT card for Craft Your Days Away.  We have a great challenge and a great sponsor too.  Our challenge for the next fortnight is to make something FOR CHILDREN.  Remember. it doesn't have to be a card - anything that you've made is fine.

Our sponsor is a great one and one of my favourites.  We  are being sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps for this challenge and they are offering and amazing 7 digis for a prize.

I have used the lovely Ava Mermaid for my card - isn't she so sweet?  She's been coloured with pro markers with lots of stickles glitter for that added bling!  I've added a few clear dew drops for bubbles and used a MS punch to create the border.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crafty Catz - Anything goes
Fairy Fun Fridays - Anything goes with flowers
Stampin for the Weekend - Sparkle and Shine

Craft Your Days Away DT card - add some Metal

Yellow is not a colour that I pick very often, but I'm always pleased when I do.  I've made today's card for Craft Your Days Away challenge - add some metal (I've added the little tree charm).

We are sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs for this challenge - pop over to the challenge blog for some of the DT designs using their images.   Unfortunately I've had a couple of printer problems so I've had to use one of my already printed digis and I chose an Elisabeth Bell one.

I've coloured the image with pro markers and used papers from a Kay and Co pad which I've had since forever!  The ribbon was part of a magazine freebie and the charm was in a £-shop pack.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sketch and Stash - Sketch + new digi and old papers
Card makin momas - make it girly

I've chosen a LOTV stamp, which I stamped out with Memento London Fog and coloured with pro markers.  The papers are from the Tea House collection by Dovecraft, as is the little cake brad.

Craft Your Days Away DT card

I'm back today with my DT card for Craft Your Days Away for our new challenge which is:

Just for men/boys + buttons

We are sponsored for this challenge by Crafty Emma's Store who's offering a £10 prize for a lucky winner to spend in her store.

Well, I could only find one green button so I've have to do boys & button.  I've chosen to use an Edwin stamp which I've coloured with pro markers.  The papers are from DCWV and the circular sentiment stamp is one that I've had for ages.  I think it may be from Stamps Away.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Ruby's Rainbow - DT card

Tracey has set a lovely challenge for us all this week at Ruby's Rainbow - she has chosen "Lace" so I thought that was a perfect opportunity to use one of my Tilda stamps.  To be quite honest, I had this one as part of the Tilda stamp club about 18 months ago and until this week, I'm ashamed to say that it had remained un-inked.

Have a peep over at the challenge blog to see what fab creations the team has come up with for this challenge.

Onto my card - here's what I used:  Tilda stamp coloured with pro markers, papers from Dovecraft Tea House pad, Fizzy Moon flowers and button and a Marianne die.   The lace was just from the haberdashery stall at the local market.  For the layout I used inspiration from one of my Tilda magazines - I think I should have embossed the white circle though.  I'll do that next time!

Ruby's Rainbow DT card - White + one other

Firstly, I wanted to say a massive Hello to my followers, new and old.  I haven't been around much in Blogland lately, what with work and also being a bit under the weather too.  I hope to have a bit more tim soon as I'm missing my daily fix of visiting around the craft blogs.

Ruby's Rainbow have a new challenge today and it is - WHITE PLUS ONE OTHER COLOUR.

So, I chose a sort of teracotta/peach shade as my plus one colour.  The paper is from Kay and Co and the flowers are Prima.  I've used my new Marianne's die which I really love and some ribbon and pearls from my stash.  I loved the speed of this card - so much quicker without a stamped image to colour!

I'm looking forward to seeing what you make for our challenge at Ruby's Rainbow!  Thanks for looking today,

Amanda

Ruby's Rainbow - Vintage

I'm back, at last, with my DT card for Ruby's Rainbow's latest challenge which is:
VINTAGE

I had some Hunkydory topper sheets so I thought it was the ideal chance to use them.  This one is not my usual style and I must admit that I did struggle a bit without being able to use a stamp or my pro markers.  The topper sheets are lovely - but just not me!

I had to add a bit of sparkle with some Stickles glitter and I've used some Kay and Co paper of vintage handwriting that I've had for ever.  You can just about pick out the glossy accents which I've used to add some dew drops to the rose petals.

Can't wait to see what you come up with so don't forget to join us at Ruby's Rainbow challenge blog!

Ruby's Rainbow DT card

I've got a couple of sorrys before I start - sorry to my DT buddies on Ruby's Rainbow, I am a bit late with this post and, sorry for the dull picture.  I can't remember how many days it has been since I saw the sun - it will be nice to take a picture in decent sunlight!  At least we've got away without snow - so far!

Ruby's Rainbow challenge for the next 2 weeks is "Flowers with Sparkle" so let's see what you can create for this challenge!

I've used paper from the Nursery stack from DCWV - the floral one is glittered.  The stamped image is from Stampavie and I've coloured it with pro markers.  I've added my sparkle to the flowers with Cosmic Shimmer glitter.  I wanted to make this card a nice and simple one so I've just added a border of pearls and some faux stitching.  Sometimes I think  that my flowery embellished cards are "too much" for some people and a clean and simple one does the job much better.

You can see my "flowers with sparkle" a bit better on this picture.  I would hate to count up how many stamps I have of teddy bears with flowers, but I just had to have this one too!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Divas by Design - Anything goes
Inky Impressions - Pearls or bling
Die cutting divas - Anything goes

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out Ruby's Rainbow Challenge blog,

Amanda

Craft Your Days Away DT card

We've got a fab new sponsor for our new challenge over at Craft Your Days Away and our challenge for the next fortnight is a great one too - DISTRESSING.

Our new sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps and they are offering one lucky winner 7 digis from their shop.

I've used their image called Silhouette Butterfly Flowers which I printed onto patterned paper and ditressed the edges.  The frame is a Spellbinders die which I sanded down around the edges.  I've used some faux suede flowers, a little wooden button and a ribbon and bow salvaged from a Christmas card.  The dark brown dots are card candi which just added a bit of detail in the corners.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Alphabet Challenge - You can choose
Crafty Catz - Buttons and Bows
Crop Stop - Distressed or Vintage
Crafty Purple Frog - Anything Goes
Delightful Challenges - Distressed/Vintage
